Tales as Old as Time
Adult Summer Reading Bingo
Fairy Tales contain universal and timeless storytelling elements that carry over to today. People venturing into the woods? Searching for happiness? Overcoming adversity? Finding true love? The goal is to find those elements within modern fiction as you make your summer book choices.
Throughout the summer, get your bingo squares stamped for each book you read that contains one of these thematic elements. You may only count one square per book.
Turn in your bingo sheet, regardless of how many squares you fill in, by Friday, August 17th. Even sheets without a Bingo will be eligible to receive our fun participation prizes and an entry into the raffle drawing!
A straight Bingo and full card Bingo will be eligible for our grand prize drawing! The full card Bingo will also count as 5 raffle entries if completed! You may start a second card, but only after completing a blackout of the first card.
Libraries Rock! Passport Challenge
Did you know that you can use your Baxter Memorial Library card at several other nearby libraries? We have entered into a reciprocal borrowing agreement with Thomas Memorial Library in Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough Public Library, Walker Memorial Library in Westbrook and South Portland Public Library which gives our users walk in access to their collections, and their users the same access to ours!
If you’re feeling adventurous this summer you can visit all five libraries that participate in our reciprocal borrowing agreement and get your Libraries Rock Passport stamped for an additional prize!
When at least one child and one adult from the same household finish their respective Summer Reading Programs, they can be entered into a drawing for a family five-pack of movie tickets to Cinemagic, Westbrook.
